Embracing Sustainability in Manufacturing with Virogreen and Metech

On 24 November 2023, the SMF organised an insightful site visit to Virogreen (Singapore) Pte Ltd and Metech Recycling Pte Ltd for SMF members.

The day was filled with learning and discovery as members delved into the world of sustainable practices at Virogreen. Members gained a comprehensive understanding of Virogreen's integrated services, including Asset Recovery, Environmentally Compliant Recycling, and Onsite Data Destruction. The highlight was the exclusive tour of their facilities, where members witnessed the meticulous and innovative processes that minimise the environmental impact of recycled e-waste.

Virogreen's commitment to environmental sustainability shone through its discussions on the lifecycle management of IT equipment. From transportation and data sanitisation to value recovery, their approach to managing end-of-life IT equipment is truly holistic.

Adding to the day's revelations were their initiatives in Precious Metal Recovery, Solar Panel Recycling, Battery Recycling, and the e-waste recycling programme – a testament to Virogreen’s dedication to environmental excellence.

Members are encouraged to contribute to environmental sustainability by utilising Virogreen’s e-waste recycling services, ensuring safe and efficient recycling practices.
