The SMF Visits Singrass

Building a Sustainable Food Supply: Explores Singrass' Innovative Farming System

As Singapore’s food security increasingly becomes an issue of focus, most would have heard of Singapore’s “30 by 30 goal” – whereby it is targeted for 30% of Singapore’s nutritional needs to be produced locally by 2030.

It was an enriching experience for SMF President Mr Lennon Tan and the SMF Secretariat team led by Secretary-General Lawrence Pek as they visited Mr Robert Li, CEO of Singrass, a company that invented an indoor smart eco farming system, which would help companies, families and individuals to contribute towards this goal.

SMF President Mr Lennon Tan and Secretary-General Lawrence Pek learn about Singrass' Smart Eco Farming System.

The smart indoor eco farm system is able to grow up to 25 different types of vegetable and at the same time, creates a natural, oxygen-rich environment.

As Mr Li gave Mr Tan and his team a tour of Singrass’ research and development laboratory, he exuded a passion for sustainability and nutrition. It was indeed an engaging afternoon, with discussion on areas for collaboration that would benefit Singrass, SMF members and the community.

The SMF would like to thank Mr Li for the tour and the bags of fresh vegetables that were harvested just before the visit!
