Standards Adoption Workshop on Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI)

The Standards Adoption Workshop on Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI) recognised certification scheme was organised on 11 May 2016 by Food Standards Committee (FSC). GFSI is an industry-driven initiative providing thought leadership and guidance on food safety management systems necessary for safety along the supply chain. This work is accomplished through collaboration between the world's leading food safety experts from retail, manufacturing and food service companies, as well as international organisations, governments, academia and service providers to the global food industry.

This workshop presented the fundamentals of GSFI, benefits of certification, and successful case studies that have brought in new business opportunities for food companies. Companies also gained an insight on Enterprise Europe Network (EEN), as a golden opportunity to strengthen company’s competitiveness and sustainability through business linkages, technology acquisition and market development with European companies. Singapore companies also have access to a vibrant market of over 500 million consumers who can be your potential clients.
