TGIF @ SMF with RHB- The Legal Edition July 2019

This July, members of the SMF had the unique opportunity to hear from 3 esteemed lawyers on common business law topics. The Legal Edition continues the focus the SMF is able to shine on key business issues with the support of RHB Singapore. These monthly sessions create valuable networking opportunities and sharing sessions for the SMF member base.

Key lawyers from Central Chambers, Optimus Chambers and Donaldson & Burkinshaw with more than 20 years of experience each, took time to share their experience on topics like Contractual Law, Debt Recovery and Overseas Joint Venture Agreements. Each section was capped off with a rousing Q&A session with the audience.

Speakers from RHB included the Head of Transaction Banking Sales and the Regional Head of Mergers & Acquisitions who took the stage to share key business insights from their respective fields.

Mr Ronnie Tan, one of the founding Directors of Central Chambers kicked off the event by speaking on the clauses businesses should pay attention to in contractual agreements.

Mr Haagen Huang, Head of Transaction Banking Sales at RHB Singapore took the stage next to speak on Trade Financing options available for SMEs.

Businesses seeking to expand operations or enter new markets, it is common to explore a merger and acquisition avenue to meet business objectives. Mr James Yeo the Regional Head of Mergers & Acquisitions at RHB Banking Group took the opportunity to share with attendees key issues to pay attention to.

Mr Linus Ng, Corporate Partner at Donaldson & Burkinshaw wrapped up the evening with key legal points to look out for in Overseas Joint Venture Agreements.

The evening concluded with a networking dinner, and guests were treated to barbeque selection including satay, chicken wings, otah and even ramly burgers fresh off the grill.
